Highest Quality Strain Relief Plus Connector Adaptor
If you are using an existing antenna system, before you do, make sure the SWR is below 2:1 before connecting it to the MMX or DMX-40.
This adaptor cable is designed to connect between the rear SMA female antenna connector on the MMX or DMX-40 and the standard antenna PL-239 plug. It also serves a second purpose, which is to reduce mechanical stress on both the PL-239 and its attachment to its likely stiff RF cable, and the very light and portable MMX with its PC-mounted SMA female connector.
These cables are extremely well built, with multiple layers of sleeving to reduce the stress on the solder joints, in order to provide long life. At the SMA connector end, note the two-lawyer cable relief design. At the SO-239 end, a 3-layer cable relief design is used to compensate for the larger connector. In addition, a clear cap is provided to protect the internal surfaces of the connector when not in use.
Keep an Extra on Hand!
We suggest, at this low price, you consider purchasing two adaptors, as all of the stress caused by the heavy duty PL-239 connector and coax will be handled by this adaptor, and thus, depending on your use case, it is the most likely to fail first. Don't be without when that happens after a few years - have a spare handy!

2. A single long press will turn on the flashlight. a subsequent short press will set to SOS mode, and another will set strobe mode. Finally, the fourth short press will turn off the flashlight.
The 5 led battery charge and status indicator will be active under normal indoor and outdoor daylight without pressing the button, as the built-in solar panel will start charging as soon as there is light on the surface. Note that covering some of the surface may block charging.
This battery is capable of powering an MMX in normal operation for 10-12 days, based on 4 hours use per day including 1 hour of transmit, without any recharging. We recommend an hour a day of charging to maintain battery levels, using our solar panel.

The cable assembly accessory is an essential add-on for anyone wanting to use their DMX-40 or MMX Morse Code Transceiver with an external transceiver (External Mode). The cable assembly actually consists of two separate cable assemblies:
The first cable connects the KEY IN/OUT connector on the DMX-40 to your straight key and the key in on your external transceiver, using either a 3.5mm or ¼" plug.
The second cable connects the AUDIO IN connector on the MMX or DMX-40 to the headphone jack on your external transceiver (both 3.5mm and ¼" plugs are supplied), and an external powered speaker.

USB Power Cube
This is a basic power cube: it plugs into 100-240V 50/60 Hz power, and supplies two 5V outputs via USB A connectors. This cube provides 2.4 amp output.
The power cube can be used for charging batteries and for operating either an MMX or a DMX-40 via the 5V to 12V cable, available in our accessories.
Low Loss 3m (9.8') Antenna Male to Female SMA Coax Cable
This LMR-100 low loss coaxial cable is part of the Professional Station GO Bag outfit for a complete radio station in a portable 8 pound bag. It connects from the DMX-40 or MMX Morse Code Transceiver output antenna connector to the 40/20M No-Tune End-Fed Antenna, also included in the GO Bag, and manufactured by PreppComm for low SWR across the entire 40/20M band.
Replacement or Extend Length
The cable can be used to replace a damaged or missing cable from a GO Bag system, or can also be used to extend the original cable length, if desired. Up to 4 cables can be daisy-chained, for a total length of almost 40 feet. Beyond 40 feet, LMR-200 is recommended to reduce power loss during transmit.

This LMR-100 low loss coaxial cable is the big brother to the 3m cable that is a part of the Professional Station GO Bag outfit for a complete radio station in a portable 8 pound bag. It connects from the DMX-40 or MMX Morse Code Transceiver output antenna connector to the 40/20M No-Tune End-Fed Antenna, also included in the GO Bag, and manufactured by PreppComm for low SWR across the entire 40/20M band.
Replacement or Extend Length
This high power coax cable can be used to replace a damaged or missing cable from a GO Bag system, or can also be used to extend the original cable length, if desired. Up to 2 cables can be daisy-chained, for a total length of over 52 feet with slightly increased loss of power to the antenna. Or, you can add this to your 3m cable and get about 36' of total length. Lengths longer than 40 feet require LMR-200 or LMR-400 to reduce power loss during transmit.
Voltage Conversion Cable
This voltage conversion cable is a replacement product when original cable is damaged, lost, or fails to operate properly.
The cable plugs into the 2.1 amp USB port on the 28 amp-hour Power Bank supplied with the Professional Station Go Bag, and generates sufficient output power at 12 volts to operate the DMX or MMX in receive and transmit mode. Note that while you can receive when plugged into the 1 amp output USB port, your ability to transmit will be severely impacted or prevented.
The voltage conversion cable will of course work with any power bank with a 2 amp output port.
IMPORTANT: This cable provides 12V with current limit. This prevents damage to your PA (power amplifier) when under stress from high SWR. This is a very valuable safety feature.

This is the complete EMP bundle: everything you need to get started, just add an antenna. In fact, since this bundle includes a dummy load, you don't need an antenna to start practicing with this DMX-40, and believe it or not, people have made contacts using a dummy load! The Nomad Experience
It is hard to describe the experience of using the MMX Nomad. Initially, there is a little fumbling to open the case, due to the magnetic closure system. We added thumb presses on the lid to assist with that. Once you get used to how to open the lid, the experience is truly awesome - especially if you have used a different setup for Morse code, such as an MMX with its separate keyboard and cable, a battery bank with its cable, a speaker or earbuds with their cable, and an SWR bridge with its cable. This product has been an idea in my mind, and then in various stages of development for there years. I had to learn how to model in 3D. I had to learn how to use a large 3D printer, and how to master all of the settings to get the result I wanted. But most of all, I had to figure out how to do a lid with a hinge! And how to make the lid snap shut! Oh, the number of different ideas that failed. The last idea was to use magnets. Oh, the number of magnets that were too weak and small. This is not an injection-molded machine - thus the precision of each piece is not exact. I had to learn how to compensate for that. Overview
The MMX Nomad is a complete ham and short wave listening station - just add an antenna! It receives and transmits Morse code, and receives SSB and AM. EASY to set up - just open the lid, and press the recessed power button on the rear panel! No plugging and unplugging wires, and trying to arrange all the pieces and wires to avoid RF pickup and other issues. Just turn it on and open! Voila! You are on the air! EASY! It's an MMX, plus...
The transceiver has all of the features of the MMX, with all three plugins installed (80, 40, and 20 meters). The power system is charged via a USB 3.0 C connector from an included solar panel, or via an included AC USB wall plug, or any USB 2.0 female connector. Power requires for maximum charge rate: 5V at 2+ amps. Battery level is displayed on the main screen, and the system will automatically power down when the battery voltage level goes to the minimum level specified by the battery manufacturer. Charging of course likewise does a careful process that limits the battery voltage and current maximums as specified by the manufacturer. This BMS feature prevents over and under charge, as well as excessive current into our out of the battery system.
Dual Mode Support
The MMX Nomad also supports External Mode: connect to an external transceiver, using its receiver and transmitter instead of the built-in transceiver. Now, you are free to use ANY BAND your external transceiver works on! No more band limitations! And probably more power and perhaps a better receiver, as well. So the Nomad is a dual function computer system, with three microprocessors combining their processing capability to give you the standard in decoding ability, even in heavy noise and the standard in encoding ability with frequency memories, automatic station ID and call sign capture, type-ahead buffer and auto speed control with a typing test built in, and micro-programs aka macros.
Audio and RF Power
While there is a built-in speaker amplifier and speaker, a headphone jack is also provided, which, when used, disconnects the speaker.
The high power mode increases the power output (and reduces the battery charge more rapidly). Expect to see from 50 to 75 percent more power output in this mode, up to 5-6 watts, depending on band and frequency within the band. A single letter H or M for high and medium indicates the power level on the main screen.
And an Auxiliary Connector
The auxiliary connector includes the Transmit/Receive line for controlling an external RF power amplifier, and CW IN and CW OUT lines for use by external devices to assist the deaf, blind or other physical limitations. It also includes the KEY IN line, also available on the KEY IN/OUT jack.
Battery Life and Care
The battery system includes four Li-Ion 21700 5000 mah batteries. Because of the built-in BMS, no particular care is required. At end of life, the batteries can be replaced.
Operating time with the built-in batteries: receive-only, over 80 hours. Mixed use with typical transmit/receive ratios, over 40 hours. So for a typical maximum use per day of 4 hours, that is 20 days and 10 days - quite a good margin for a weekend or hike into the woods. You don't even need the PreppComm Solar Battery or the Folding Solar Panel, unless you are out in the wild for a long time, or forget to turn the Nomad off, for example.
Battery life is measured in years. We anticipate you should start seeing a gradual decline in charge capacity after 2-3 years, and useful life out to 10 years.
MMX ZERO...
The MMX ZERO is loved by many current users. However, time moves on. The ZERO was specifically "just" a Morse code encoder/decoder, with no transceiver inside. Thus, no bands, and the name ZERO.
MMX ZERO was one of our best sellers for quite some time. But again, times change.
We introduced the DitStomr Cypher™ at HamCation in February, 2026. It was our most exciting new product introduction, and we ended up selling out our first production run in 2 days. We more than doubled the production run, and followed it by another of the same size. We started shipping in early April, with Release 1 of software. This was replaced with Release 2 in early May, and will again be replaced with Release 3 in late June. Each release increased the power of the decoder and added planned features as well as customer requested features.
The Cypher is the best alternative to the MMX ZERO, and is less expensive, and much smaller.
However, there are still some situations where you might want to consider a different alternative, the DMX-40. Yes, it does have a 40M QRM transceiver inside, along with the same guts as the MMX ZERO. Turned on, it operates like an MMX ZERO, until you turn on the internal transceiver. So if you want that package, with a built-in LCD rather than using an external divice to host the Cypher GUI (a PC, a tablet, a phone), then the DMX-40 is for you. Only slightly more expensive than the MMX ZERO.
Summary: ZERO discontinued, replaced by:
DitStomr Cypher™, with full color graphical user interface (GUI) hosted on a browser on your device, with extraordinary decoding, audio scope, powerful band pass filter (BPF), and much more.
DMX-40, with built-in LCD, good decoding/encoding, self-contained.
