Raw Florida — miles of hiking and equestrian trails through undisturbed wilderness with no facilities of any kind. A legitimate off-the-grid activation for anyone who wants one, provided they bring their own furniture.

Verify the address before you leave. This is the State Conservation Area, not the State Park of a similar name — the two are about ten miles apart and mapping software confuses them.

District lands are open from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset, under Chapter 40D-9 Florida Administrative Code, unless the District authorises otherwise.
Access

Setting up
Where to operate
There are no tables or benches anywhere in the park. Bring your own seating and your own operating surface. Low-growing tree limbs near the trailhead are usable as an improvised surface, and the ground is level enough for a battery box and a folding chair.
Antennas
An 18.3 ft vertical with all eight radials. No SWR figure recorded.
Before you go
Conditions to plan for
Direct sun with no shade at the operating position; a breeze made it bearable on the documented April visit but plan for exposure.
Park rules
Southwest Florida Water Management District land. The District advises checking whether an area is closed or access limited due to weather, management activity or hunting season before travelling. Prescribed burning is its primary management tool, so temporary closures are routine.
